Marine Corps League of Naples
E.T. Brisson Detachment #063, Naples, FL
Detachment History
E T Brisson #063 Detachment was charted in 1972
and has remained an active viable group since that time.
Some of our current members joined as charter members
and are still active in Detachment functions.
Over the years, the Detachment has become an effective respected organization within the Collier County Veterans community.
Our Detachment policies and actions have always been directed
by our pride in being Marines, and with that as our focus,
we have gone into the community of veterans,
the community as a whole and have sought to be of some assistance
to those less fortunate than we.
E.T. BRISSON
1918....1999
ET BRISSON was one of the original charter members of the MCL #063
Naples, FL Detachment. In 1999 a new Charter was established changing the Detachment name to "ET BRISSON", in honor of ET. He was several times commandant and he also held many state MCL offices. He was a WW II Marine, who fought on Okinawa. He was a road builder in Collier County, FL. The large lake visible from the I75, as you pass Pine Ridge Road, he dug and owned for road building purposes.
His son built the Iwo Jima float for the Detachment in 1977. When the float was built, it was intended for a one-time appearance. And all these years later, the Traveling Iwo Jima Memorial is still standing its duty at area Military events and Parades.
